One of our favorite little football fans turns 1 today! Yup, somehow little baby Bronze Mahomes is a year old. And the First Family of Football celebrated his birthday this weekend in the perfect way — with an epic football-themed birthday party.
Patrick Mahomes—Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs—and his wife Brittany Mahomes transformed their spacious home gym into a football wonderland to celebrate their son Bronze Mahomes’ first birthday. The floor was covered in turf, adorned with giant balloons, huge cutouts of footballs and foam fingers, a giant bouncy house with Xs and Os, a Build-a-Bear station, and more. Even the smash cake featured turf-like decorations with tufts of green frosting.
Surprisingly, the color scheme wasn’t the typical red and yellow associated with the Chiefs; instead, they chose green, black, and white. This choice raised eyebrows, considering these are the colors of the Philadelphia Eagles, whom the Chiefs faced in the last Super Bowl and lost to just the week before. Speculations arose about whether coach Andy Reid approved of this decision, despite the logical association of green with the football field.
A noteworthy detail was Bronze’s personalized bodysuit, featuring a football on the back and the words “Most Valuable Patrick” on the front. Bronze’s real name is “Patrick Lavon Mahomes III,” but “Bronze” serves as a cute nickname coined by his uncle.
While Bronze may not fully grasp the awesomeness of his birthday party, his sister Sterling, aged 2, had a blast on the bouncy house. Brittany humorously questioned whether it was Bronze’s birthday or Sterling’s in a video capturing her toddler’s excitement.
Sterling had her own next-level birthday earlier in the year, with a candy-themed celebration dubbed “Sterling’s Two Sweet” in February. As a budding star like her mom, who is a retired professional soccer player and co-owner of the Kansas City Current, we can anticipate exciting celebrations for her in the future. The Mahomes family consistently goes all out for their adorable kiddos, showcasing their commitment to creating memorable moments.
