LeBron James struggled against the defending champions despite scoring 21 points in the season opener. After a badly defended three-pointer, he got his eyes poked and collapsed to the ground in front of Reggie Jackson. More significantly, though, D’Angelo Russell disregarded him despite obvious cues to give the ball to him.
Ultimately, the Lakers suffered a final-game defeat of 119-107, ending their season. The good news is that things will only get better from this point forward.
